Lorraine Scott is the Owner of Allied Autism Services.
Lorraine’s background is in teaching children with Special Educational Needs, she specialises in working with autistic children and young people, their families and professionals in education and health providing autism specific services. Lorraine works, locally, nationally and internationally.
Lorraine is from Belfast, Northern Ireland and was formerly Head of the Learning Support and Assessment Division at Middletown Centre for Autism, where she was responsible for overseeing the team who worked with children and young people who, despite support from autism specific services, still experienced significant challenges in their school environment, at home and in the community.
Lorraine formerly worked for the Southern Health and Social Care Trust as a Team Leader in an Autism Diagnostic and Support Service. Due to her experience in Health and Education settings, she was appointed as a member of the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) Guideline Development group for Autism Screen in and Diagnosis. Prior to this Lorraine was employed as a Psychoeducational Therapist for the University of North Carolina, in the TEACCH Autism Programme and is currently a certified Advanced Consultant in the TEACCH Programme. Lorraine is also Co-Owner and Co-Director of the Attention Autism Programme.
Lorraine has a MEd (distinction) in Special Education (Autism, Children) from the University of Birmingham.
